Choosing the right wax & plaster spatulas / knive

Lecron is the general-purpose wax carver and the one to buy first. Keep plaster and wax instruments separate — wax residue on a plaster spatula contaminates a mix, and plaster grit scratches a wax carver's edge. Wooden-handled instruments like the Gritman stay cooler in the hand but are not suited to repeated autoclaving.
