Cement Spatulas
What are cement spatulas?
Cement spatulas mix luting and lining materials to an even consistency on a glass slab or mixing pad. Blade flexibility is the practical difference between patterns: a flexible blade conforms to the slab and gathers material efficiently, a stiffer blade gives more control when spatulating a thick mix that resists.
How the cement spatulas range is organised
- Standard:
- #5, #7, #22, #24A and #313.
- Flexible:
- #24 flexible.
Choosing the right cement spatula
Flexible blades suit thinner luting mixes and scraping a slab clean. Stiffer blades are better for heavy-bodied bases and putties where a flexible blade just bends. Keep a spatula dedicated to glass ionomer if you use it — set residue is difficult to remove completely and contaminates the next mix.
