Choosing the right cotton & college plier

A plain college plier is fine for general transfer. Move to self-locking with grooved tips for endodontics specifically — the groove seats a paper point or file so it does not rotate, and the lock means you are not maintaining pinch pressure while working down a canal. Extra-fine tips help with small pellets and matrix wedges but are more easily sprung out of alignment.
